First the winner of yesterday’s giveaway is:  Lea

Please send me your mailing info!

Today my guest is author Angela Cameron.  Angela’s latest releases, Blood & Sex, Vol. 1: Michael and Blood and Sex, Vol. 2: Jonas, are available now!

Now here is my interview with Angela…

Welcome to my blog!

Hi! *waves* Thank you for having me.

blood_and_sex__michaelCan you please tell us a little about your book(s)?

I’d love to. My current books range from horror to erotic romance. Nocturne, for example, is more urban fantasy and suspense. The Blood & Sex series is what I like to call a suspenseful paranormal erotic romance. I like to mix it up a little.

Can you tell us a little about the Blood & Sex series?

The books are about a group of Italian vampires who operate through a mafia style setup. They handle the black market blood trades, enforce the vampire laws in their territory, and so on. Individually, each book is about a different character’s falling in love (and having sex *smiles*), while the series follows the rising threat that their enemies pose the vampiro cosca in Collins Bay and vampires worldwide.

What inspired the books and the series?

A couple of things, actually. I’m a vampire junkie. The character Michael came up first, while I was working on another project. He sort of brought the rest of them through and the idea morphed from there.

How many books are planned for the series?

Currently, I’m working on the third. If the series remains as successful as it has been, I have ideas for a total of six books. Knowing the characters, it could go on forever. There’s no shortage of sexy characters and conflict in Collins Bay.

Do you have a favorite character in the series?  If so, why is this character your favorite?

*laughs* I can’t decide. Jonas, the hero of the second book, keeps trying to convince me that he’s my favorite. I think that he may be right. I’ve had a hard time moving on after finishing his book.

What is your favorite thing about being a writer?  Least favorite?

It’s so much fun. I guess my favorite thing is getting to live in a dream world while I’m writing. The characters are so real that I could entertain myself indefinitely. Especially when I’ve got a hot vampire trying to coax me back into the club to watch him play and write about what he does. *laughs* I’m so grateful to Ravenous Romance for allowing me to do that.

My least favorite thing right now is editing. I don’t generally mind, but it’s hard to pull myself out of the story to do it.

Describe yourself with three words.

Stubborn. Talkative. Imaginative. (At least those are the words I seem to hear the most from my husband.)

What do you like to read?

Everything. I read a lot of paranormal stuff, of course. It’s my vice. But I also read classics. This year I’ve already read Jane Eyre, Wide Sargasso Sea, Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and a lot of nature poetry.

blood_and_sexjonasWhat’s next for you?

Blood and Sex, Vol. 2, Jonas’s book, just came out. So, Vol. 3 will be on it’s way to the publisher soon. If you’re familiar with the characters, this one is about Blane.

I also have a story coming out in the Rekindled anthology that Elle Amery is editing for Ravenous Romance. It’s my first witch story and I’m very proud of it. It’s actually become one of my favorite stories and inspired a series of books that I’m still planning out. All of the new items will be announced on my blog at angelacameron.wordpress.com and on my blog at ravenousromance.com as they near their release dates.

Is there anything you’d like to ask my blog readers?

Yes. There are a few things that I haven’t noticed in paranormal romances lately. So, I’m wondering if there is anything that you, as a reader, would like to see in paranormal romances that you’re either not seeing or not seeing enough of?

Thanks again for having me, Jennifer.

I’d like to offer a contest for the blog, too. Commenters within the first 24 hours will earn an entry into a drawing for a free copy of Blood & Sex, Vol. 1: Michael.

Thanks Angela!

As Angela mentioned one lucky commenter will receive a download of Blood & Sex, Vol. 1: Michael.  Just leave a comment answering Angela’s question to be entered.
I’ll announce the winner tomorrow!

Now onto the announcements…

2009 is going to bring some changes to the blog (I mentioned one of these yesterday) so this week I am going to focus on some of these changes.
Each day I will discuss one of the changes I have planned for the blog…don’t worry, they aren’t anything major.  (Note:  This is what happens when I am sick and have too much time to think…I come up with changes  :???: )

Up first…Contests

Now this first change isn’t anything major, but I will no longer do a monthly drawing for a goodie pack winner.  In fact, I have actually forgotten to do these the last few months  so because of my forgetfulness (and the rising costs of mailing stuff), I will no longer draw a monthly winner for goodies.

BUT DON’T WORRY!!  We will still have random contests and giveaways on the blog…that won’t change.  In fact, many of you probably don’t even know what I am talking about so you won’t even miss it.

Also, I want to remind everyone to check out the contest rules for the blog by clicking here or the link in the sidebar.  These are the rules for all the giveaways held here on the blog unless otherwise stated (occasionally an author or contest might have different rules…you’ll be made aware if that is the case).

I have made a few minor changes to the rules page.  One change is that if the contest requires that you leave a comment (which most of them do), I wanted to make it clear that you may comment as often as you like, but know that I will only count you once in the drawing.

This may be obvious to most of you, but I wanted to make sure you were aware of it.  I don’t want you worrying I’ll disqualify anyone for commenting multiple times because I hope that you will comment frequently and interact with my guests and each other.

Also, to claim a prize be sure that you e-mail me unless directed otherwise.  This helps me to keep track of prizes and their winners.  I’ll take care of notifying the authors or donors if the prize is coming from someone other than myself.

I don’t want to sound preachy or anything.  I just want to make the contests on the blog fair and fun for everyone so please read and follow the rules.

So that’s all for the contest changes…at least that I can remember right now.  If I think of anything else or if anything else changes, I’ll be sure to share it.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for more changes for 2009…
