Spotlight on Kathy Love’s Books…
Tuesday, May 13, 2008Here is author Kathy Love to tell us more about her releases…
This summer Fangs But No Fangs will return to the shelves as a mass market reissue. I love the new cover, which I think better depicts some of the angst of the hero, Christian. This book has fun and funny moments, but overall, Christian and Jolee are pretty emotionally scarred characters looking for love and redemption in each other. I’m pleased that feeling is shown in the new cover.
So, yes, they’re back…

There’s Nothing Uglier Than A Vampire Singing “Feelings”
If I hadn’t seen it for myself, I’d swear it couldn’t be true: my brother, Christian, living in a trailer park and working at a karaoke bar. We’re talking about the snob who’d probably sniff the plasma packets and send `em back in a huff if the blood type wasn’t the right vintage. But after centuries of living in the undead fastlane, he’s made up his mind that this is exactly where he needs to spend the rest of eternity, atoning for his many, many, sins.
But sometimes things just don’t work out like you think they will. Sometimes your hell can turn into your heaven. And thanks to Christian’s chatty neighbor and boss, Jolee, things seem to be getting a whole lot nicer in Shady Fork Mobile Estates. Not that either of them has the first idea how to have a normal relationship-we are talking about a woman’s who’s only dated dead-beats, and a guy who’s only dated the dead. Well, nobody’s perfect.
Also I’m really excited to be continuing the story I started in Any Way You Want It. My next book, I Want You To Want Me, will be hitting the shelves in September. This is the story of Erika and Vittorio. I’m thrilled because, as well as loving these characters, I introduce you to Maksim Kostova, a demon from the eight circle of Hell, who I’m proud to say will be getting his own book in 2009. I had so much fun with this story and these characters, I hope you will check them out.
I Want You To Want Me
available September 2008
DESTINY MAY NOT BE SET IN STONE,
BUT AT LEAST HE’S AS HARD AS A ROCK
Erika Todd moved to New Orleans because she needed a change—and, well, yes, because that’s what the fortune teller said she would do. Not that she’d admit that to many people. But so many of the psychic’s predictions—about her work, even finding that stray black cat—have already come true. Now all the lonely sculptor needs is to meet and fall in love with the prophesized dark-eyed prince…
Reclusive musician Vittorio Ridgewood has a new neighbor he’s been trying to avoid. Sure, she’s gorgeous, but she’s coming on strong, and the last thing the 200-year-old vampire needs is to get involved with another mortal. Especially since several of his former human paramours have lately been turning up dead…
Sensing the relentless beauty needs someone to watch over her, Vittorio agrees to sit for a sculpture, and their attraction to one another quickly ignites. But is passion even this hot worth dying for?

I love the new cover for Fangs But No Fangs.
I am definitely going to have to pick up a copy of I Want You To Want Me. I love books about musicians and as an added bonus vampires! Another great cover.
Have a great week.
Love the I Want You To Want Me cover!
What a beautiful cover on your new book!!!
My first Kathy Love books were Wanting What you Want, Wanting What You Get and Wanting Something More and I loved them!!!
These two books sound wonderful… I’ll be looking for them now (is it bad form to admit I haven’t read anything by you yet? *sheepish*)
Very cool! Thanks for the introduction, Jennifer! These look lovely and sound like great reads!
this one looks hot.. thanks for sharing it with us..
Glad to find out about you and your wonderful books! I have just begun reading this genre of books. Thanks,Cindi
Love the cover of the new book… and the blurb’s piqued my interest. Can’t wait to learn more and eventually read it.
Thanks everyone! I’m pleased with the new covers too. I hope you will check them out.
What do you like best in a cover? I think Erin’s cover for Fallen is so intriguing and beautifully done. I also like the photo covers. Covers always lure me in. Then I read the blurb and then the first line of the story. I have a little system.
I haven’t read any of your books yet, but they sound great!
I also like photo covers! I’ll never buy a book with a cover I don’t like, I have to be able to look at it.
I was thrilled when Kathy agreed to be a guest again! I am really looking forward to her upcoming releases.
As for your question, Kathy, I like all kinds of covers, but I do prefer they reflect the story inside…Meaning, if they are a bit dark, then I would expect the story to be dark. If they are more cartoony, then I would expect a light-hearted book. I love all kinds of covers though so I am not picky.
If I don’t go shopping with a specific book in mind, then yes, covers might grab my attention and get me to read the blurb. But a cover won’t make or break a purchase for me.
Your system sounds similar to mine….I also turn to a random page in the book and read a few lines…
I remember the last blog party with Kathy and Erin.
And how about a coincidence? I just started reading “Fangs for the Memories” last night.
Loving it as much as I did all the ‘Wanting’ books!
I have noticed a trend where MM reissue covers are very much different from the original release covers.
Better, in my opinion. The covers above are verra nice. And while covers are not usually a consideration
when purchasing a book, I do enjoy a striking, memorable one!
Can’t wait to read these books.
These sound like my kind of reads, glad to see them both here again!
Ooo I can’t wait for “I Want You To Want Me!” I really liked “Any Way You Want It” and I’m going to have to buy the copy of “Fangs” when it comes out…
And the rest of the series. I also love both those covers. So many great things to look forward to!
I love the new cover for Fangs but no Fangs! It’s definitely dark and angsty.
I can’t wait to read I Want You To Want Me - love the cover! the combination of black and purple is awesome.
I can’t wait to read I Want You to Want Me. It sounds awesome and New Orleans is one of my favorite settings. Love the cover too.
I like both those covers. Haven’t read any of your paranormals yet so looking forward to these.
I love both covers, I have never read any of your books but I am going to have to check them out.
